Simplified Postage Services Starting In May

From early May, eBay started updating and simplifying the postage services offerings to provide the most relevant services for sellers. There will also be improvements to the way postage options and estimated delivery time is displayed to buyers.

  • All postage options offered and estimated delivery time will be displayed prominently throughout the buying process – at the top of the item page, during checkout, on the order details page and during the process of leaving feedback
  • New service names will replace existing services to specify the carrier and type of service – eg Regular is changing to ‘AusPost Regular Parcel Post’
  • Time values will be added to all services – eg 1-3 days
  • Redundant services will be removed. Any Good ‘Til Cancelled (GTC) listings which specify postage services to be made redundant will need to be updated by early May or they will not relist
  • Generic Standard, Express and Expedited services will be offered for use with carriers not listed in the services selection drop-down – eg Fastway or DHL
  • Freight will be introduced as a new method for large and bulky items over 150lbs or 68kg

So if you were one of those sellers that had trouble listing your big bulky item there is now a way you can list without any hassles or confusion, check out the new shipping section in your listing template next time you list a new item!

Have a great eBay weekend.
