Improvements To Search Functionality Coming In March…

Best Match, eBay’s default sort order for search results, is now being optimised in March 2011 – to further help buyers find the most relevant listings from sellers who offer the best service, value and products.

From March onwards, you may see some differences in how your listings are ranked in search. This will reflect enhancements to how Best Match criteria are weighted. To more accurately reflect seller performance, the listing performance score is changing from “Recent Sales” to “Sales over Impressions” for Buy It Now items. The optimisations will be rolled out in stages this year.

In late March, eBay are also launching a new, more powerful listing analytics tool which will make it easy for you to understand your search standing. The new tool lets you analyse your listing’s performance based on Best Match data, including impressions and sell through rate. The tool has previously been successfully tested & launched on other eBay sites. You will be able to access the tool through a new “Applications” tab in My eBay.

The key success factors for Best Match will remain the same. To optimise your position in Best Match, you should consistently provide great service, value and products to your customers and you will end up in front of your customers.

Til next time, make sure your ready for eBay’s new changes next month!

Have a great weekend!
